The Village of Tupper Lake has applied to the NY Forward program to support transformative projects in the Junction Downtown.
The goal of this new state program is to revitalize downtowns in New York’s smaller and rural communities, especially in villages, hamlets and other small, neighborhood-scale municipal centers.
Tupper’s NY Forward proposal is for the Junction “Downtown,” soon to be the connection point of the Adirondack Rail Trail and the scenic rail line to Old Forge/Thendara. With the Adirondack Rail Trail nearing completion, the Junction Downtown is primed for growth, and NY Forward can help accelerate its transformation.
The proposal can be viewed by clicking this link:
If the Junction Downtown is selected as one of the region’s NY Forward communities, a strategic planning and project development process will take place in early 2023. At that time, a formal request for project proposals will be made, and all businesses and property owners in the Junction target area will be able to apply for funding.
